I chose the word "curve" that would act as the theme for our design logic and geometry. from my main word and associated words such as arc, bend, and round; I built an alphabet of shapes that I would utilize in my design process: a circle, an ellipse and an arc. transitioning from ideas of carving, I began to explore ideas of curving through the technique of stacking. all seven spaces are constructed through stacked curved shapes with raised edges to create “pods” that allow for seating. the links between the levels are curved stairs that follow the geometry stemming from my word map. the curved stair combines the stacking motifs and curved forms, which further merges these concepts in my design.
